Congratulations to my nephew Little S! Yesterday was his kindergarten graduation!
Yesterday evening we attended Littl S.'s kindergarten performance. Anytime you get around 30 little 6 year-olds together you know it going to be fun. Really, they were so cute and adorable. They sang. They danced. They performed skits. They spoke Arabic. They spoke English. They showed video of the kids while in class.
Their mothers and fathers clapped and waved excitedly. They smiled and laughed - some with tears of pride. This is the first time I have had the opportunity to watch young performers as I am now a mother myself. I was so proud of all the little people. Some of them shy, yet most of them shouting the songs at the top of their voices and anxiously waving to their families. Their teachers were standing proudly on the sidelines for reassurance.
Our Little S., as each student, had a few roles in the skit. However, he was also the chosen one to conclude the 1.5 hour long graduation performance by thanking the parents, the teachers and everyone for a wonderful year, a speech he did well and in English.
This was followed by a nice evening, dinner, and dessert with his parents, grandparents, aunts uncles, and cousins.
Congrats!
Before you know it, Aisha will be the kindergarten graduate: time goes TOO quickly! Congratulations to Salem.
